Hello
St. Irish Princess Dymphna, pray for us
Thanks for the book recommendation of Julie Manet ‘s diary , growing up with the impressionists . I got it from my local library and it is fascinating!
A beautifully curated exhibition.
This content is very interesting. However, it is a casual and nonchalant approach that could be improved by professional film formatting of artefacts and film editing. Also, the commentator needs to improve diction and pacing. It would be interesting to have actual "makers as curators" such as stain-glass artists and artisans also commentate on artefacts, as well as academics. Is it possible to introduce a professional producer for these productions? After all it is the National Gallery.
Fantastic survey of Early 20th century Irish stained glass. Unfortunately the use of aah or aam every fourth word is incredibly distracting. Please listen to yourself and stop the aams.
Beautiful & wonderful. Truly beautiful & wonderful 👏🥹
Very interesting. And amazing how the last questioner was happy to give up several hours of her time to listen to the “selfish” and “self-absorbed” artist! 🤷♀️
Such beautiful painting the way she painted the lace and the fabrics is so wonderful I have only just discovered her work through my open university course and I have to say how much I love all her paintings I hope to come to Dublin one day and see this painting - it will be a truly emotional experience I’m sure
Thank you for the comment. Hope you do make it to Dublin to see it, it's very beautiful!
Fabulous talk, with detailed research effortlessly incorporated. Thank you very much for sharing this
I love his work.
Thanks NGI, great talk, I look forward to seeing the exhibition!
So interesting . Compared to Sergeant , I think Osbourne captures the mother child bond more feelingly. The Tate Britain show has costumes also .
This show is fantastic Bravo
Italians in art. Cant.be. surpassed.
Excellent background to the exhibition
It was a fascinating talk, thank you so much Brendan. On the back of it, I have already been in to the exhibition which meant all the more armed with the information learnt on the Zoom call. My eyes have been opened and I think this is the start of a wonderful new hobby for me. Thank you sincerely again.
Thank you to Brendan and the national gallery Ireland family a lovely insightful talk on the great Walter Osborne I look forward to visiting this soon.
Made St Dymphna go woke 😂🤦🏻♀️ y’all forgot Jesus
How can you be so crass after watching such a beautiful video?
I really enjoyed this music. Could you please post a credit/link for the music? thank you. 😊
Great artist ,captures the period.
P r o m o S M 😍
Para mim, na tradução, o quadro é de 1617, quando em realidade ele nasceu em 1632. A obra é de 1670-71.
❤
St. Dymphna is the patron saint of mental health because she was killed by her father who had mental illness.
Many thanks! Very interesting observations and relaxing to listen to. The speaker has a beautiful gentle voice.
I was studying the art in the farnese family collection and found this video. Its so exciting to find out this portrait, which i had seen many time before was actually depicting one of the family members

@@joecurry6102 Of which language is the name Dympna please, mam?
This was wonderful. Thank you. I have a long story about St Dymphna in my new book, Saint Brigid & Other Amazing Irish Women! Published by Columba Books.
Thank you so much for your upload and for following the care instructions
Superb work @nationalgalleryie this work is vital. Looking forward to seeing the exhibition!
Why does the maid look so impatient could it be she wants her mistress to finish so she can deliver it and go about her business there is nothing saying it's a love letter? Were Vermeer's paintings named by the artist or in his 19th-century rediscovery?
Absolutely brilliant!
Beautiful! Where can I find more information about these paintings? Is there a book I can buy or is there on the internet more information/ analysis?
Really looking forward to enjoying these - particularly Lavery on location !
yup crex
This looks really exciting
These details are just amazing, it is a joy to see Lavinia's brushwork and skill up close after the conservation project. Fantastic!
p̶r̶o̶m̶o̶s̶m̶ 😳
Uhm, brush & ink drawing I think, not pen & ink as she said
Beautiful
the invitation to have a conversation and make a presentation
Sean is so pretentious, he explains something that is nothing.
Very well done, thanks for the content :)
